Spending Review 2007
CSR 2007 covers spending for 2008-2011 and is the second comprehensive review, following the first CSR in 1997. There have been smaller intermittent reviews in 2000, 2002 and 2004. In June 2006 the Regional Assembly and SEEDA received an invitation from the Treasury to submit joint evidence and advice to the Government for CSR 2007. South East England's submission, which was sent to Ministers in September 2006, was prepared by the Regional Assembly and SEEDA, with the assistance of the Government Office and in consultation with stakeholders and local authorities.
The submission builds on previous advice submitted to Government through the Regional Funding Allocation process and on the evidence base within the South East Plan and Regional Economic Strategy. The Regional Assembly submitted a response in July 2006 to the Treasury's Cross Cutting Review into Supporting Housing Growth:
