Making the CaseThe RHB has written to Government outlining the need for more investment to deliver affordable housing for the region. An extra £400m is required over three years to meet the target of 11,200 affordable homes a year set by independent inspectors. To highlight the issue the Regional Assembly has published its argument in a document called Making the Case:

Consultation on the Regional Economic Strategy Implementation PlanThe Regional Planning Committees considered the draft RES Implementation Plan at its meeting on 25 July 2007 and agreed the framework for the Assembly’s response.
Planning White PaperThe Executive Committee met on the 15 July 2007 to discuss the Government's Planning White Paper. The Committee approved an outline response, and deferred a supplementary response to the Regional Planning Committee. The Regional Planning Committee approved the supplementary response at their meeting on the 25 July 2007. The letter below is an initial response to the Government's Planning White Paper from the South East England Regional Assembly and is superseded by the response above.
