South East Conference
|
The second South East Conference was held at Gatwick on 31 January 2006. Following a similar event in summer 2004, business, political and community leaders took the opportunity to reinforce South East England's message to Government. Treasury Secretary John Healey MP and Transport Minister Stephen Ladyman MP were warned that the region's economic success cannot be taken for granted. The need to unlock investment to support South East England's growth will continue to be the key theme of the Regional Assembly's dialogue with Ministers. The event was organised jointly by the Regional Assembly and SEEDA. Assembly chairman Cllr Keith Mitchell's presentation is available and the two organisations have issued a joint press release. There is also information on the South East Conference 2004. |
