The main part of the Assembly's spatial planning work is conducted through the full Assembly meetings, Executive Committee and Regional Planning Committee meetings.

Alongside these, the regional housing and regional transport functions in South East England are managed by the Regional Assembly through the Regional Housing Board and Regional Transport Board.

The Regional Assembly's scrutiny role is largely carried out by select committees.

To inform our work, and help us develop our regional priorities we also have a number of advisory groups, along with a Healthy Region Forum and a Joint Europe Committee.

We work with neighbouring regions on spatial planning issues that go across regional boundaries, such as sustainable development, through the Inter-regional Forum.

We also run and attend a number of less regular other meetings (eg Environment Agency Dialogues and waste summits).
