Joint Europe Commitees
The Joint Europe Committee is responsible for considering and making recommendations on European issues that affect the South East. It is also responsible for promoting and lobbying for the South East's interests in Europe on behalf of its constituent bodies - the Assembly, SEEDA and four sub-regional European partnerships. The committee has 12 members (four from the Assembly, four from SEEDA and four from the sub-regional partnerships) and meets four times a year. Its Chair alternates between the Assembly and SEEDA. The Secretariat is also shared by the Assembly and SEEDA. Members of the public are able to attend Joint Europe Committees meetings as observers but are not able to participate.
