The Communities Plan and the Regional Strategy11 September 2003, Portsmouth The South East England Regional Assembly and the Government Office for the South East held a major regional conference on 11 September 2003 at Actions Stations, Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth. It provided an opportunity for 250 invited regional stakeholders to hear about the production of the South East’s first South East Plan and it’s relationship to the Government’s Sustainable Communities Plan. A key objective of the Plan will be the renaissance of our towns and cities, and this was a theme running throughout the conference, with delegates being given the opportunity to express their views on a vision for our urban areas for the next 20 years.
