Regional Transport Board
| The Regional Assembly has a key role in advising Government on significant transport issues in South East England. It is responsible for the Regional Transport Strategy (RTS), which ensures transport projects in the region complement and support sustainable development. The RTS forms part of the South East Plan, the Assembly's 20-year planning vision. The South East region was the first in the country to have a transport board. It comprises six Assembly members and representatives from transport, environment and business sectors. The transfer of the RTB followed a pilot board in 2004. Members of the public are able to attend RTB meetings as observers but are not able to participate. Further information is contained in the RTB fact sheet. RTB Membership
