Milton Keynes and South Midlands Sub-regional Strategy

The Milton Keynes & South Midlands Sub-regional Strategy (MKSM SRS) was published in March 2005. The purpose of the document is to provide a clear, agreed sub-regional strategy for the period 2001-2021, and a long-term vision for the sub-region towards the year 2031, as part of the Government's Sustainable Communities Plan.

It also provides guidance on the scale, location and timing of the development and the associated transport, employment and social infrastructure needed to achieve the vision of sustainable communities.

The document follows the draft MKSM SRS, which was published by the East of England, East Midlands and South East England Regional Assembies in July 2003. An independent panel was appointed by the First Secretary of State to conduct an examination in public of selected matters arising out of the draft strategy.

The Strategy can be downloaded from the Government Office for the South East's website.
