Parking Standards
|
As the statutory regional planning body for South East England, the Regional Assembly is required to collect information on parking standards adopted in different parts of the region. The consistent adoption and enforcement of parking standards across the South East region has the potential to make a significant contribution towards the Regional Transport Strategy objective of rebalancing the transport system away from car use. Although clear planning policy guidance on maximum parking standards both for residential (PPG3) and non-residential (PPG13) classes of development exist, there is considerable scope for authorities to vary how the provisions are applied.
