Reviewing the Plan

Proposed Changes

Government's proposed changes to the South East Plan were published in July 2008. The Assembly's summary of the changes and response to the consultation can be downloaded on the Proposed Changes page.

Examination-in-Public

Independent inspectors delivered their assessment of the South East Plan on 29 August 2007 following an Examination-in-Public. Further information is available on the Examination-in-Public page.

Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople Review

Shortly before the full draft South East Plan was submitted to Government in March 2006, new regulations set out the need to include information on the number of Gypsy and Traveller pitches required in the region. As it was not possible to include this data before the Plan submission deadline, the Assembly launched a partial review of the Plan to cover this issue.

Further information is available on the Gypsies, Travellers and Travelling Showpeople Review page.

Minerals Review

The Regional Assembly has reviewed the policy in RPG9 and the draft South East Plan that splits provision of land-won aggregates into sub-regional allocations for each Minerals Planning Authority area (generally county or unitary council areas). Further information is available on the minerals review page.
