Events DiaryThe South East Plan which was agreed for submission to Government at the full Assembly meeting on 1 March 2006. Following the submission of the full Plan to Government on 31 March 2006, there was a formal consultation on the Plan from April-June 2006. This was followed by an Examination in Public between December 2006 and March 2007. Government published an independent inspectors' report in August 2007. Regular Assembly meetingsAll South East Plan issues are reported to the Assembly's Regional Planning Committee (RPC). RPC recommendations on the way forward are then debated by a full Assembly plenary meeting. These are both public meetings. Dates are published in our full events diary and papers are published approximately a week before the meeting date. Previous eventsDuring 2004 and 2005, the Assembly held a variety of events linked to South East Plan consultation. A series of 18 ‘Spring Debates’ held across the region in March and April 2004 attracted over 1,000 stakeholders. These events were organised to ensure that the consultation draft of the South East Plan (published in January 2005) reflected views from across the region. Feedback summaries from each of these events have been published on this website. During public consultation from January-April 2005, the Assembly held a further series of 10 stakeholder workshops to encourage responses to the South East Plan. Assembly member organisations and stakeholders also organised a range of local consultation events during public consultation. The Assembly was invited to attend 97 such meetings.
