The Integrated Regional Framework
|
Produced jointly by seven partner regional bodies, in close consultation with councils and other stakeholders, the Integrated Regional Framework (IRF) provides the overarching high-level policy framework for the South East region. The document published in 2004 replaced a previous Sustainable Development Framework. The IRF includes separate sections on the range of strategies in the South East region, on data and trends for each objective. A Sustainability Appraisal Guide was published as a supplement to the IRF in 2005. The Guide aims to encourage organisations, businesses and community groups to review their own plans and strategies against the South East region's 25 key objectives to see how each organisation can contribute to improving quality of life and sustainability in South East England. IRF Review 2006The IRF contains a commitment to start a review in 2006. As part of the review a new Regional Sustainability Framework (RSF) has been produced. For full details visit the RSF page. The Integrated Regional Framework
LaunchThe IRF was launched on Monday 28 June 2004 at the University of Sussex in Brighton. The presentations are available below:
Consultation EventA consultation event on the draft IRF was held on 26 January 2004 at Le Meridien Hotel, Gatwick Airport. The report below summarises the comments made on the consultation draft and how they have been addressed in the final version of the IRF. We tried to take account of as many points as appropriate.
Forum for the FutureThe IRF Working group commissioned Forum for the Future to research how Sustainability Appraisal (SA) guidance being developed at the regional level might be targeted and adapted to local organisations. The research report was finalised in November 2004 and provided input for the Sustainability Appraisal Guide supplement to the IRF.
Information on the Sustainable Development Framework published in June 2001 is also available. Please contact the Regional Assembly Secretariat on 01483 555200 if you would like further information.
